Car splits in half after striking tree, injuring 3
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) An out-of-control car hit a tree and tore in half, sending two brothers to a hospital Thursday.
Sheboygan County Sheriff's Lt. Mark Rupnik says the Ford Escort hit a tree and broke apart when the driver lost control on a curve in the Town of Sherman early Thursday. Much of the engine compartment remained wedged against the tree, while the passenger compartment flew into a field.
Rupnik says the 26-year-old driver, Jeffrey Stoelper of Saukville, and his 22-year-old brother, Joseph Stoelper of Random Lake, were thrown from the car.
A passenger in the rear seat suffered minor injuries.
Rupnik says Jeffrey Stoelper has been arrested on a tentative charge of suspicion of drunken driving causing injury. It is up to the district attorney to file a formal charge.

Hmmm, thank god it wasn't GM car, cuz we would have never heard the end of that one!Dang Ford's! The moral of the story is if you are going to drive drunk, don't drive an escort.... OF COURSE KIDDING!

Just read the headlines..."Car splits in half after striking tree, injuring 3"
.
And then read Scott Angus's backpedaling explanations of many stories, and can anyone honestly say the Gazette does not sensastionalize stories?

Sad story, but why exactly is this Sheboygan story in the Gazette? You think their paper is carrying the story about the albino deer being shot in Janesville? Let's keep the stories at least where your circulation is!

Car vs. Tree. Tree always wins.
