Public hearing on Janesville city budget
From the WCLO newsroom:
A public hearing is planned before the Janesville City Council votes on the 2009 budget Monday night.
Acting City Manager Jay Winzenz says the more than $40 million spending plan represents a less than 2 percent increase for both the tax rate and levy. He calls increases to the tax rate and levy "reasonable".
Some cuts to the budget, like a subsidy for the Tallman House, have been publicly criticized.
