ASHFORD — Hunters in Fond du Lac County have found a body in the woods.

Sheriff’s Lt. Rick Olig says the badly decomposed body was found about 9:17 a.m. Sunday off Skyline Drive in Ashford Township.

He says the body hasn’t been identified, but the hunters who found it think it is a woman’s body because of the clothing.

Olig says no women are missing in the Fond du Lac area, but investigators are checking with surrounding counties to see if the body matches any of their missing persons reports.

Ashford is about 17 miles south of the southern tip of Lake Winnebago.

Even if this was not intentionally done the person involed with this really needs to be found so they get what they deserve. This is horrible i'm really sorry for the family now and for when they find out. I am extremly sorry.

This makes me really sad. I hope whoever is missing their daughter gets the closure they need. And I hope that whatever happened to her is figured out and IF it was intentionally done by someone than that person needs to be held responsible. My thoughts are with whatever family this woman belongs to.

How terrible!! I hope this brings closure to some poor family wondering where their loved one is.
