Janesville city budgets up for public discussion
From the WCLO newsroom:
A public hearing is scheduled Monday for Janesville's city and library budgets.
The City Council is whittling its budgets, working to retain jobs, maintain services and avoid a tax increase. Under the proposed cuts, city employees will have to do without some training and travel to conferences, and the Tallman House is losing about half its subsidy from the city.
Monday the council hears from the public in its first scheduled budget public hearing. The council will meet for one more study session Wednesday, then continue the public hearing and adopt the budgets November 24.
