From the WCLO newsroom:

Pet owners in Milton will have a wide open space to take their dogs to play by Thanksgiving.

City administrator Todd Schmidt says construction begins this week on the dog park project. Tree removal is beginning this week, with fences for both small and large dogs expected to be installed within two weeks.

The park will be located on the community's south side just off County "Y", or John Paul Road.

See what happens when Sue comments on something that does not have to do with GM, her hubby, her dad, or DUI's? She deviates from what she knows and begins to talk foolishly. How can the park be a swamp when you to walk down either a long incline or steep hill to get to the pond? I took my labs out there to do dummy training and stood on dry ground 1 foot from the waters edge. The 2-3 days prior to that it rained!

My suggestion is to save your towels for drying yourself off at home. However, next time I go out to the park I will take a box so that people can bring old pairs of glasses and food donations. The food for the people not as fortunate as Sue and her GM Millwright hubby, and the glasses for Sue to see that the swamp she talks about is as dry as her hubby.

See ya'll out to the park! Maybe after they open they can merge with the Janesville park, and work on opening parks in other areas. Madison has one pass for all of their parks and Dane County's parks. We still do not have a park in my town, and it sure would be nice to have options.

curlysue,

How unfortunate you have not visited the site recently. The park will be approximately 20 acres and for those of us to have retrieving or hunting dogs, the pond area will be a great asset. It is not a swamp but I guess you are entitled to your opinion. I personally am thrilled to have such a wonderful local asset. And yes they are removing trees but just to facilitate the fencing.
