Wis. election officials prepare for record turnout
MADISON -- While the presidential race may bring voters to the polls Tuesday, other important races also will be decided across Wisconsin.
One of the most important issues will be which party controls the state Assembly. Republicans hold a slim 51-47 seat majority now, but Democrats hope to take control.
Meanwhile, Democrats 18-15 lead in the state Senate appears relatively safe.
Green Bay has a hotly contested race for the 8th Congressional District. Incumbent Democrat Steve Kagen beat Republican John Gard two years, but their rematch appears close.
As for the presidential race, recent polls show Obama with a double-digit lead over McCain in Wisconsin. But Republicans say McCain still has a shot at winning.

NVgrf: And they say republicans are mean spirited. Boy have they a lot to learn from the democrat side of the aisle. Dem's blame before, during and after. Such a nice group of people.

Felons are not automatically excluded from voting. Most felons are able to regain the right to vote after a few years, whether by statute or petition.

Make sure you all go to vote on Tuesday. The GOP dirty tricks team around the country has been distributing very official looking flyers indicating that because of such an anticipated large turnout that the Republicans should vote on Tuesday, and the Democrats on Wednesday. Their s**** never ceases to amaze me.
