Firefighters investigating fire at Brittany Apartments in Beloit

The Beloit Fire Department is investigating a possible fire at Brittany Apartments, an eight-unit apartment complex, at 1956 Colony Court.

A large amount of smoke showing was reported at 4:45 a.m. and building tenants were evacuated.

By 5 a.m., police were called to the scene to clear away bystanders and Alliant Energy also was enroute. Mutual aid from the Beloit Township Fire Department also was requested.

The last comment was totally unnecessary. The cleanest area can have cockroaches. That is not an issue, the issue is, those are the homes of individuals. I just hope that no one was injured.

Wow! It's been 90 minutes since this story was filed and no one from Janesville has made rude comments about Beloit yet?! Amazing and a good way to start the day. Hope everyone involved in the Beloit incident is safe.
