UW-Madison chancellor candidate recommended
MADISON — Cornell University Provost Carolyn “Biddy” Martin was recommended Wednesday as the next chancellor at UW-Madison.
A Board of Regents committee and UW System President Kevin Reilly recommended Martin for the job out of three finalists. She has accepted, but her appointment won’t be complete until confirmed by the regents next week.
Martin has been provost at the Ivy League school in Ithaca, N.Y., since 2000. In that role, she is the university’s chief academic and chief operating officer.
