MILWAUKEE — Republican presidential candidate John McCain will be in Milwaukee next week for a fundraiser where tickets start at $1,000.

The Arizona senator’s campaign Web site says he will be at a reception at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center on Thursday, May 29.

Tickets to the main reception at 7 p.m. cost $1,000 per person, but people who want to attend a private reception at 6 p.m. will pay $10,000.

Republican leaders have said Wisconsin is an important state for McCain to win.

Democrats have prevailed here in the past two presidential elections by less than half a percentage point each time.

no, of course I didn't think that all politicians participate in these types of functions.

sorry all. I'm just really tired of the whole election process. It's gotten too boring so I thought I'd stir the pot with some nonsense that means very little. again, I apologize. I will try to be a little more logical in my future posts.

So, you think democrats, particularly Obama, are above this kind of fundraising?

Here's a link about an Obama fundraiser that cost $1000 to attend and asks for $2300 and was co-hosted by the daughter of the infamous Rupert Murdock. http://www.politico.com/blogs/anneschroe...

Here's another one that cost $1000 and was attended by the German Ambassador. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/040...

Here's yet another but the cost of this one was $2300 and it was hosted by that champion of the underprivileged Oprah Winfrey. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washingt...

It's hard for me to believe you didn't know he raises money like this. If you really were this naive, then you now have a new perspective.

$1,000 to see him? Another reason Democrats in Wisconsin have prevailed. Obama and Clinton were here and didn't charge a penny.

I really don't think McCain is overly concerned about those issues. He admitted that economics is not his strong suit. But if it comes to war, I am sure he is your man.
