A La Crosse teen faces felony charges involving nude photos of a 16-year-old girl that he posted on his MySpace page.

Seventeen-year-old Alex Phillips made an initial appearance Tuesday in La Crosse County Circuit Court on charges of possession of child pornography, sexual exploitation of a child and defamation.

Authorities acted last Saturday on a tip from police in Janesville and confirmed that there were two photographs of the naked girl on the Web page.

According to the criminal complaint, Phillips was told he could be jailed for posting the photos but told police he would still keep them on the page.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled May 28.

That is why I used the name TRUTHBTOLD..

I didn't like the direction this was heading and thought all should know the truth. That's all, the simple honest truth.

Oh and Gazette...even though I agree with truthbtold, before allow posts that state fact shouldn't said fact be verified? Or does posting on your webpage negate possible libelous information? I am not being smart because perhaps you are not on the hook, I just do not know. No disrespect intended to you truthbtold.

Your kidding right? Kinda like saying "she asked for it"? Or maybe like saying something like "she deserved it"???? Please, now is the time when you stand up and pound on your chest and grunt, right?

Fact of the matter is, what he did was violate her rights. What was to be something only shared between two people was turned into something that left her feeling dirty and abused.

so wouldn't she be just as guilty for possession of child pornography if she has the pictures in her posession? Remember, child pornography isnt funny, but jokes about child pornography, sometimes are.

Here's a little story for ya's
Sixteen year old girl dated boy for three years who is now EIGHTEEN. At one time both lived in Janesville, now boy moves because of PROBLEMS, to live off, oops I mean with his grandparents in LaCrosse. Girls mother and those that love the girl where finally happy to see her come to her senses and break up with punk, oops I mean boy.
Here's the juicey stuff you are looking for, girl tells boy that it isn't going to work,(girls family sighs with relief)jerk,I mean boy takes it upon himself to take revenge and posts pictures that where given to him (upon his request)at a time in their relationship.Girl already realized her mistake when she did this and now will probally pay for this mistake for many years to come becuase some sicko saw them and saved them before they could be deleted off his page.
Now,IN MY OPPION.....If she is to pay for her mistakes for years to come at his hands, shouldn't he?

Now go ahead and tear apart my spelling and grammer and totally miss the whole point.

"jimpl-Does that matter? A little, but not much. He had them and posted them...it is child pornography no matter who took the pictures."

I posted my original comment because there seemed to be some confusion among some of the other posters here as to where the pictures originated. I'm not disputing that it was wrong for him to post the pictures online.

At some point previous to the incident, the girl allegedly took the photos HERSELF with a camera phone and sent them to the guy.

jackson1, 17 year olds get older and become the rapists. It has to stop! I'm confused on how JPD got involved, but as long as he was stopped (so far, anyway) is what matters.

Your tax dollars were well spent.

jackson1- you are an idiot!!! This 16 year old girl's nude pictures were posted for the world to look at. If you do not think this is serious, it makes me wonder what kind of child pornography you have on your computer. A seventeen year old knows better, oh and wait he was told it was against the law but did it anyway...lock him up with serious time.

If his page is reported to myspace for nude photos they will delete them whether he likes it or not. Hopefully someone has done that. They may even delete his account.

I just think that it is strange that the Janesville Police were the first to know about these photos. Isn't anyone who downloaded and viewed these guilty of child pornography?

I don't really understand what his point is and I'd would chose removing them over prosecution and possible conviction as a sex offender. But if he refuses to cooperate then I guess the police have to do what the law requires and arrest him. It just seems incredibly stupid not to cooperate when given the chance.

I would like to know how he got these photos in the first place? Why did the young girl allow someone to take them in the first place? I'm sure if she has a MYSPACE you would probably find the same pics on her account or something close to it. These kids are going way too far! There are so many websites like MYSPACE and if you could see some of the pics these young girls put on there of themselves it is too discusting! Then they wonder why these young guys stalk them. These girls are never bashful about telling everyone where they live at either.
So you kinda wonder who is really at fault when this sort of thing happens. Both should be held responsible

"Phillips was told he could be jailed for posting the photos but told police he would still keep them on the page".

This is a blatant disregard for authority! There should some kind of penalty enhancer for this. Then again, maybe six months in the general population of jail after HIS nude pictures were pinned up in the jail would change his mind...............
