Cleanup from I-90 rollover

By Steve Benton ( Contact )   May 15, 2008 - 6:56 a.m.

Cleaning up the mess from a semi rollover at the I-90 and Highway 11 ramp may take awhile.

The State Patrol and local officials say the mishap occurred around t2:00 a.m. as the driver was exiting I-90 to check his load. Officials say the truck was carrying cedar shingles, tools, vanilla, and syrup.

The driver, who is not named, told the State Patrol he felt a wabble or shake and decided to pull off the interstate. The driver and a passenger did not appear to be injured seriously.

The State Patrol says they may issue a ticket for driving too fast for conditions.

Everyone blames the trucker who is also A dad, an Uncle, Grandfateher and a Brother even a neighbor and the last thing they want to do is cause harm for anyone.

When President Eiesenhauer (I hope I spelled it correct) first integrated the interstate system it was to be used by the Military and Trucks to deliver raw materials/goods across the USA it was later decided that cars could use it also...be thankfull

If this oil-dominated country had decent rail and other shipping alternatives, and better oversight of worker concerns and of the trucking industry, all like truly developed countries have, the truck-car standoffs and highway congestion would be massively reduced. And we would see more "normal" employment for the men and women working in the transportation service. But don't hold your breath. Influence, in America, always outs. More trucks! More cowboys! More I-90 rage!

Amen. Most people have no respect for truck drivers. Truckers are a breed of the last American cowboy, and need to be appreciated. Don't get me wrong there are some real scuzzy drivers, but there are losers in all occupations.
Just remember, while you are pulling out in front of them, or trying so hard to get around them, they are away from their family, showering in a truck stop, eating crappy food, and dealing with morons on four wheels. Give 'em a break.

Thank you all you hard working truckers. We would all be lost without you.

It sure makes me feel better to know that the world is full of perfect people. It's too bad that something so trivial keeps your blood pumping.

Thankfully, this just goes to prove everyone makes mistakes and no one is perfect.

I understand the urgency to report the news to us. However, how many seconds does it take to proof your work or hit spell check? Perhaps give your article to a co-worker and have them check for errors. These types of articles make the Gazzette look awful!! It is almost daily someone is ripping on an article for very noticeable spelling errors.

The phone must ring off the hook, eh?

Heh. If the reporter's not sure of a word ("wabble" vs. the logical "wobble"), it should have just read "he felt a shake". Sometimes it's fun to play "How many mistakes can you find in THIS article?" How about the "t2:00"?
