JANESVILLE -- The Janesville Police Department released the name of the boy who died as a result of a west-side house fire this morning. He is Derek R.J. Mattingly, 7.

The fire call went out shortly before 8 a.m. this morning at 327 N. Palm St.

Derek Mattingly's parents were identified as Kristarra Mattingly and Scott Ashmore.

A 4-year-old brother of Derek escaped the blaze, apparently uninjured. A third brother, age 2, was flown to a Milwaukee hospital, fire officials reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
