The National Weather Service says last week's storm system that produced a tornado near Wyocena also spawned another near Prairie du Sac.

The weather agency originally confirmed only the Wyocena tornado, which caused an estimated $550,000 in damage to several homes and businesses on April 25.

Meteorologists said they determined that the Wyocena tornado was preceded by the brief twister in Prairie du Sac.

Most of the damage was caused by the Wyocena tornado. The agency said it had winds of 100 miles per hour and touched down in a path four miles long and 50 to 75 yards wide.

No one was injured in either tornado, although two horses were hurt when a barn collapsed.
