Rock County Council considers creation of mental health court
Rock County's Criminal Justice Coordinating Council is considering the creation of a mental health court, based on the success of its drug court.
Criminal Justice Planner and Analyst Elizabeth Pohlman McQuillen says the mental health court is only one option for the county. The CJCC is deciding which direction to take when applying for a $50,000 program grant. If they choose to create a mental health court it would be the first in the state. She says Illinois is very active with mental health courts.
The program grant application is due May 6.

a day late and a dollar short my son is sitting in a prison instead of a mental health institution. this reminds of back in the 40s and 50s when they just threw mental health patients away. way to go rock county.
