A man suspected of leading police on a high-speed chase in Janesville early this morning was arrested in Winnebago County this afternoon, according to the Janesville Police Department.

Thomas M. Mann Jr., 37, South Beloit, Ill., led police on a chase that reached speeds of 90 mph on West Court Street around 1:30 a.m. after a hit-and-run accident, Lt. Keith Lawver with the Janesville Police Department said. The officers stopped chasing Mann when his speed became excessive and his driving erratic, Lawver said.

The police notified the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department of the incident, and Mann was arrested there this afternoon, Lawver said. Mann faces charges of driving with a revoked license, knowingly fleeing an officer and reckless driving, Lawver said.

But will our top-notch DA actually prosecute him??? And if he does, will he dismiss it once it is no longer news??? Unfortunately, at least one answer will probably be 'yes'.
