Federal agency ranks Wisconsin home health care below average
MILWAUKEE (AP) - A recent report shows a federal agency ranked home health care quality in Wisconsin below the nation's average.
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality rated the state's home health care quality as very weak,'' the same as last year.
The National Healthcare Quality Report says Wisconsin home health care agencies ranked below average in 11 of 12 quality measures. The measures include improvements in pain management, mobility and drug management.
The poor showing is a sharp contrast to the performance of Wisconsin's hospitals, clinics and nursing homes. The state ranked above average in quality at those facilities.
The agency bases the report on surveys and information filed with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

My family has had experiences with Rock County Home nurses and they have all been wonderful and caring individuals. I don't know what people expect, but maybe they have not been entirely cooperative in getting the most from these individuals. I think that they deserve recognition and respect for the work that they do and I am thankful for the help that we have received from them.
