So, this is a good friend of mine. They were drinking, when he heard some girls fighting, so he went out side, and after that, he has no memory.. we did find out that some guy had hit one of the girls and Justin called him a name, but he was attacked from back... so he couldnt identify anyone, besides that he was drinking as well... He does have blood on his brain, and there are some fractures in his face, he does seem to be healing well, other, than hes really loopy now, he doesnt remember converstations, or events very well anymore. I agree that this should have never happened.. and its sad that it did happen, but, Justin does have a way to find himself into some bad situations... I hope that they do catch some people, i have heard, that there were alot of people that were just standing there watching it all unfold while Justin laid blacked out, but still getting beat. NO ONE DID ANYTHING TO HELP HIM, NOR CALL THE POLICE...Isnt that insane? I am happy to know that he is going to be able to pull through this, but because of this event, he will have problems with the rest of his life.

There may be medical reasons, or he may well know his attackers and have history with them. When Fourth Ward was having serious problems, it wouldn't be uncommon to call 911 about a fight and have everyone deny that anything took place.

Even with a "brain bleed" he knew he had to leave Mercy ED to get proper medical attention.

bleeding in his brain sort of helps answer the "why couldn't he identify his attacker" question. sheer shock/trauma affects this as well.

Back in the 60's on the south side of Chicago I as a white person walking to work from the bus stop had to walk past a all white catholic school. This is in a black neighborhood and many black kids where waiting for the white catholic kids to be let out of school this stormy morning. The school was between the bus stop and work and 6 black kids came up behind me and beat the dickens out of me. I was able to walk away but severely damaged. So I personally know how fast this can take place. I would not have been able to recognize any of them if they where in a line up as I did not get to see there faces. I was on the ground after the fist sucker punch then kicked and punched repletley.

give it time they will all be identified. AND GO DOWN ONE BY ONE. I hope the guy who hit him from the back (the first blow) feels tough sucker punching someone who just walks out of HIS house...

Fear of further injuries from known assailants, involvement in illegal activities related to the attack, reluctance to be a snitch, or maybe he really doesn't remember. What is that neighborhood like? I hope that the police can follow up and provide more information. I don't want to have to start carrying a baseball bat with me when I go out.

Maybe he doesn't want to identify his attackers, so this doesn't happen again...

how are you "unable to identify your attackers" was he hit in the head or snuck up on from behind?
