MILWAUKEE (AP) – Are you sick about hearing about the weather?

Too bad, here’s another update.

The latest snowstorm in southeastern Wisconsin packed a punch – and now it’s setting records. In Madison, 7.7 inches fell in yesterday’s storm, putting the city at 99.6 inches for the year. That means it’s their snowiest winter on record. It far surpasses the second snowiest season, 1978-1979, with 76.1 inches.

In Milwaukee yesterday, 12.4 inches fell. That puts the city’s total at 96 inches, making it the second snowiest ever. The snowiest season was in 1885-1886, with 109.8 inches of snow. National Weather Service meteorologist Marc Kavinsky says Madison will probably hit the century-mark for snowfall. It’s too early to tell if Milwaukee will.

He says yesterday’s storm dumped between 10 and 15 inches throughout much of southeastern Wisconsin.

Hey, we could always still get a May 1 blizzard -- like the one in the 19th century when the First Congregational Chruch burned down! (The steeple was hit by lightning during the storm. The pews were saved, including the one where Lincoln sat, and the walls mainly survived, but not the roof.)

Sorry. I'll have to keep adding to this story.
By Friday night at 7 p.m. we had received 5 inches, according to the National Weather Service at Sullivan
C.W. Idzerda, trying to make it clear.

let me see...now that really doesn't answer the question of how much Jvl. got. I guess we got 9.55" or maybe not. I love guessing games.

Janesville received 76.55 inches through 7 p.m. Friday evening. Janesville surpassed the previous record of 67 inches early this year.
AccuWeather is now forecasting a few snow showers for Sunday, but no significant accumulation.

Exactly, what do we care about how many inches fell in those two cities? What about Janesville??
