House destroyed by fire, 3 cats killed

TOWN OF BERRY, Wis. (AP) - A house in the Dane County town of Berry was destroyed by fire Thursday night - a blaze that also killed the homeowner's three cats.

Sheriff's authorities say the estimated loss is $350,000.

Firefighters from Cross Plains, Black Earth, Middleton and Waunakee were called to the fire, which was fully involved when they arrived.

The homeowner was not home when the fire started.
