Flood warning for Rock River
From the National Weather Service:
The National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan has issued a flood warning for the Rock River at Afton from Thursday evening until further notice.
At 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, the stage was 8.69 feet. Minor flooding is forecast. Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
Forecast to rise above flood stage by tomorrow evening and continue to rise to near 10.7 feet by next Wednesday evening. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
At 10.5 feet, water affects some homes, businesses, and streets in the Riverside Park and Main Street areas of Janesville. There are also some flooded basements in downtown Beloit.

Good point. I wrote that wrong, but what I meant was the problem we experienced earlier in the year. The ice chunks that break up and go down stream creating dams that cause more problems. You are right though. Let's hope come walleye season the boaters consider the damage that is done by their wakes. It is only about 6 weeks away, and should be a good one.

Suggest removal
Just think, there is 4-6 more inches of snow predicted overnight for our area. We also still have over 10,000 acres of 10"+ ice on the lake yet to melt, and spring rains to come. We are in for some flooding!
