Body found in smoke-filled Jefferson County home
JEFFERSON, Wis. (AP) - The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department says a body has been found in a smoke-filled home in the town of Oakland.
Sheriff Paul Milbrath says his officers found the body Tuesday night when they responded to a request to check the building for a real estate agent who was to be showing the home.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
The sheriff's department says the Wisconsin fire marshal's office and the state Division of Criminal Investigation are also investigating the matter.
