MADISON, Wis. (AP) - A former official at Wisconsin's nursing home for veterans has been charged with stealing approximately $250,000 from veterans organizations.

Rich Calcut, the former public information officer at the Wisconsin Veterans Home, is charged with felony theft by fraud.

A criminal complaint says the 52-year-old diverted money from a nonprofit group set up to support recreational activities at the home for his own use.

Calcut was placed on administrative leave last year and then resigned in December.

He is expected to make an initial court appearance in Waupaca County next week.

I think someone like this should be required to do at least 12 months in Iraq.
