Job market expected to get stronger for Janesville and Beloit
Janesville employers expect to hire at a "strong pace" while Greater Beloit area employers expect to hire at a "respectable pace during the second quarter of 2008, according to the Manpower Employment Outlook Survey.
Rock County Manpower spokeswoman Phyllis Soeder says from April to June, 37% of Janesville companies interviewed plan to hire more employees while 10% expect to reduce their payrolls. That's compared to 30% who intended to add jobs in the first quarter.
In the Greater Beloit area, from April to June 20% of the companies interviewed by Manpower plan to hire more employees, while none expect to reduce their payrolls. Compared with the first quarter of 2008 when 10% of companies intended to add employees and 10% planned to reduce staffing levels, Soeder says hiring levels appear to be significantly stronger.
