GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - The Green Bay Packers say Brett Favre is preparing to address the media.

The quarterback is scheduled to hold a news conference Thursday morning at team headquarters. His wife Deanna is also scheduled to attend.

Favre told Packers coach Mike McCarthy of his plans to retire in a phone call Monday night. He has said he is too fatigued for another season.

I dont think anyone made him rich other than HIMSELF. It was his talent that he was paid for. Judging by the huge amount of autographed memorabilia now for sale, I think he signed his fair share of autographs.
Nice to see his so called fans ripping him one day after his retirement. I think Cardtrader is just sore that Brett didn't make him rich. Thanks cardtrader

Well with this weekend being Packerfest I think Brett picked the right time to retire, now he has another reason for not showing up to sign autographs for all the loyal Fans of Wisconsin that have made him rich that he never seems to find the time for.

Thanks Brett

First ballot Hall of Famer Brett Favre announced today that he is rescinding his retirement to return to the Packer franchise. He noted his fatigue was not from playing in 270+ consecutive games, but rather from the burden of wearing #4 for all those games.
*
"With the thousands of memorabilia items that I have signed through the years, it is time that me and Deanna share in the profits from the collectors market," stated Favre. "The Packers and the NFL have agreed to allow me to wear #88, and exchange those goofy green and gold stocking hats with a green Amp logo and a Hendrick Motor Sports baseball cap."
*
Favre's move from #4 to #88 is expected to generate millions in new revenue.
