Tickets will be available through the athletic offices at the two schools from 7:45 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Should be a good game on a neutral court. They are both playing pretty good basketball right now. I will be there.

I wasn't aware the people here were "blogging". I thought this was the comment section and that is just what people are doing, commenting on the stories published in the paper. That being said, I agree with the criticizing issue you bring up. Most people are here to legitimately state their opinions on the subject, when it becomes just a way to rip on someone else, it serves no real purpose. But, seeings how you started your statement criticizing everyone here as pathetic, you pretty much contradicted yourself.

We still have a chance to go green. The game will be moved from Wilmot when Dr Robinson buys all the tickets, or is he afraid it might be moved to the west sid. where all the gold balls are.

Hey Grif, Are you happy? See what you started? LOL Good grief can't you just sit on your patio, sip your drinks and enjoy the weather there with out starting trouble here? We have enough. But you still make me laugh.

Wow, I think our sarcasm has become a little weak, people actually think they are traveling together? Everyone knows they can't because the Parker kids will bring cow manure on their shoes and get it into the plush carpet on Craig's bus.

In the name of good sportsmanship, Craig and Parker are rivals. It is what drives them. Just as the Packers are with the Bears. It drives the players to do better, strive harder against a "neighbor". It's just the nature of the sport, whatever sport it might be. I have to support atbrown07 in their assessment of things. I wouldn't want to be on that bus if they decide to send both teams together. I know my kids are actually friends with kids from the other school but when it comes to sports, it's a whole different story. Every sport is inclined to "not like", "want to be better than", etc. of the other school. Let's be real. I would imagine they will have "fan" buses for a fee that will more than cover the cost of the buses and the schools will have separate buses.
And no, I wasn't raised here. But, I do have children in the district now.I have for 14 years. I have never been a part of the "rivalry" but I have seen it through my kids. On the other hand, my husband is born and raised here and he states the same. Although, he will give the fact that if only one of them are there, the other school will support them.

Etymologically, the word RIVAL refers to people who live by the river and draw their water from the same stream. In that in this context the river would be the mighty Rock, maybe we should use another word instead of rival.

Can we quit combining teachers contracts with sports... These are the best years in a young persons life, they live for rivalries like this..They do not have to be over shadowed by some stupid comments with contracts.... leave the politics out of this!!!!!!!

Wahoo that is the best idea I have heard yet. Would you be willing to Volunteer your time to officiate this game.

The teachers should put together a team and play against the teachers from other schools and split the ticket take. Then they can stop whinning about their contact. I would complain too if I was getting raises and had good insurance. How can these poor people get by?

Yes, I'm from Janesville. Went to Parker and was on the field during a Parker-Craig game, or on the court depending on the season. The rivalry was intense. I can't imagine it has changed all that much over the years. There's going to be the cross-town rivalry almost anywhere you live if there's more than one high school.
This may work for the teams to share a bus, but again, I can't imagine if there are going to be "fan" buses, that the Parker and Craig kids would be intermingled...

I'm just wondering which parent group will be providing the after game snacks? Will they only make enough snacks for their own team members? So many questions and not enough time.

Your right. And I bet the parents from both schools can meet at a mutually agreeable spot and can carpool down together to save the money to fund the 4 year old kindergarten we are all stuck with funding.

Of course they are taking one bus. We are in the midst of an energy crunch and moving into recession, and the Board of Education can't even afford to provide it's teachers with a contract. It would really be bad if the district hauled 40 kids total in two different buses wouldn't it? In light of all of this, I am sure the Janesville Board of Education would not tolerate such a squandering of its financial resources!! It is far too ethical and fiscally responsible to do such a thing!!

I'm sorry, but I would not want to be on that bus... Two rival schools playing in a big game. I can only imagine how tense it will be both on the way there AND on the way home.
Are they seriously taking one bus???

Nooooooo........I think the losers should walk home. The Craig girls probably have more shoes......so that should be no problem!

NVgrf: That sounds like a great idea. Then the girls can bond and get to know each other. So whatever happens at the game, no one will feel bad.
