MADISON – The state Department of Employee Trust Funds has set pension increases for approximately 141,000 retired state and local government employees covered under the Wisconsin Retirement System.

The department says the core annuity dividend will be 6.6 percent starting May 1st, while the variable annuity will not change.

All retirees in the system participate in the core fund, while about 25 percent also participate in the more volatile variable option.

Whether adjustments are made depends upon the investment performance of the pension funds invested by the State of Wisconsin Investment Board and the current and projected funding needs of the WRS.
