Evert recommends candidate for Edison AP job
JANESVILLE -- Superintendent Tom Evert is recommending Jim LeMire to the school board for the position of Edison Middle School assistant principal.
The school board is expected to take up the recommendation at its Tuesday, July 8, meeting.
LeMire would replace John Walczak, who was recently appointed principal of Jackson Elementary School. Walczak replaced Pat Johnson, who retired.
LeMire has taught sixth and seventh grades for nine years at Janesville’s Franklin Middle School. He holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Cardinal Stritch University.
LeMire was one of 47 applicants, five of whom were interviewed, according to a district news release. LeMire also coached Parker High School’s boys basketball team for two years.
