Street resurfacing starts Saturday
Street resurfacing, in nine different locations throughout Janesville, begins Saturday and continues through around July 16.
Work includes grinding and removing portions of existing pavement before adding a new layer of asphalt.
Although these streets will be open to through traffic and driveway access will be maintained during the work, curbside parking will not be allowed and delays and congestion should be expected.
Visitors to Lions Beach and Rotary Gardens should park along South Main Street from Palmer Drive to the south, along Palmer Drive from Main Street toward Beloit Avenue and along Randall Avenue from Sharon Street toward Palmer Drive.
Resurfacing activities on Wuthering Hills Drive should be done before the Fourth of July festivities, July 3-5, at the Youth Sports Complex.
For a complete list of street improvement work, visit www.ci.janesville.wi.us. or call (608) 755-3165.

Why starting on a Saturday? Hope we aren't paying overtime to get this done. They have the next month to do it during the weekdays when there isn't alot of traffic from GM.

It appears that hatch hasn't been to the Gardens. They are enjoyed by patrons of all ages, certainly not hatch. I guess it is easy to make fun of the work done at the Gardens if you never go there. I do agree that it seems silly to do the work during the "prime season", but it is "construction season."

Perfect time to resurface road in front of sewage infested beach but I do not see many rotary gardens patrons willing to stride their wrinkled and bloated arses that far.....why not wait until the bloom falls from the....oh wait.....GM has.....better do it while the tax base can still pay for such luxuries.
