EVANSVILLE—The city is looking for a new District 4 alderperson after Alderman John Sornson announced he will resign from the city council effective July 31, City Administrator Dan Wietecha said.

Sornson has served six years on the council and currently serves on the water and light utility committee, public works committee and public safety committee.

The city council will appoint a replacement to serve until the April election.

Residents interested in the position who live in District 4 should send a letter of interest and resume to Human Resources Administrator Jodi Sam at jodi.sam@ci.evansville.wi.gov.

This is a loss to the Council. John always spoke his mind and often what he had to say opened eyes and changed the course of events. I wish him well.
