Man threatens wife with gun during dispute
JANESVILLE—A Janesville man is in custody at the Rock County Jail today after threatening his wife with a gun during a verbal dispute early this morning.
Michael K. Griffeth, 57, of 502 S. Academy St., was arrested on charges of battery and disorderly conduct while armed, according to Janesville police.
A call came into the Rock County 911 Center at 4:23 a.m. from Griffeth’s wife, Jayne, 44.
“When he grabbed the gun, she went outside and called 911,” said Sgt. Craig Klementz.
That’s when Janesville police—eight officers—surrounded the perimeter of the house and used the public address system to talk to him.
Griffeth surrendered to police without incident before 5 a.m and no longer had the unloaded .38-caliber revolver in his possession, Klementz said.
“He never pointed the gun at her but did make a threat as he grabbed the revolver,” Klementz said.
The dispute also was physical, but Klementz didn’t have details.

I hope children aren't involved. Mr. and Mrs. Griffeth, please get help. I am assuming alcohol was involved...please don't drink if you fight. (assuming being the time this happened)

At least she was lucky enough to get out of the house! Some people don't get that chance!

I am sure that was quite the startle for the neighbors.
Regardless, my thoughts and prayers go out to this couple as this gets resolved for everyone's safety.
