Rock River receding slowly
JANESVILLE--The Rock River continues to recede slowly from the crest it hit Saturday.
Here’s where the river levels were Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service:
-- Newville: 15.05 feet after a crest of 15.12 feet. The weather service predicts the level to be 14 feet Sunday morning. Flood stage is 10 feet.
-- Indianford: 18.28 feet after a crest of 18.33 feet. The National Weather Service does not have prediction equipment on the Indianford gauge. Flood level is at 15 feet.
--Afton: 13.47 feet after cresting at 13.51 feet. The weather service predicts the level to be 12.6 feet Sunday morning. Flood level is 9 feet.
