JANESVILLE--The Rock River has crested, according to the National Weather Service.

River levels reached their peak early this morning, and they'll remain at the same level for a couple days. The floodwaters aren't expected to begin receding until at least Monday.

The river crested at 15.11 feet at Newville, 18.33 feet at Indianford and 13.5 feet at Afton, according to the National Weather Service.

The Rock County Sheriff's Office urges residents to stay out of the floodwater and away from the river until cleanup begins early next week.

You didn't see me helping, Rims? Were we helping at the same place? Do you know me, Rims? Stop being so critical!

Because its obvious that it's wet and their is flooding. We don't need to be told. Any idiot knows what the effect is. Everyone feels for the homeowners and the farmers. Enough already. There is other news in the area. We spent all weekend helping, did not see you or any Gazette reporter because they are to busy reporting on what we already know. Take a look at their main headlines, they it all they have reported on for a week and half. You would think this was a weather blog.

On with it.

Rims, why is ALL the info about flooding bothering you so much? It's very relevant to us--those of us who farm or those of us who have houses on the river that are flooded. WE want to know when the water will recede. Maybe if you'd help with the clean-up rather than just complaining about the articles in the gazette, parks and houses would get cleaned up FASTER and then the gazette could print something else. OR, maybe you need to get a different newspaper until the flooding is gone if you don't want to help.

What will the gazette write about when all the water is gone? They seem to have forgotten there is more to talk about than the water. Shows you how small town they really are.
