Janesville drinking water safe
JANESVILLE—Residents are calling Janesville’s water department concerned about the quality of the drinking water, and the director of utility wants to assure residents the water is safe.
He figures people might be concerned because of what they hear about unsafe water in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. But that city’s surface water plant went under water, Dan Lynch said.
Janesville gets its water from wells, and Janesville’s utility continues to test the water for bacteria daily, just like it does every day, he added.
“There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the drinking water,” he said. “There’s nothing to even remotely indicate anything wrong.”
The floodwaters are near some of the pumping stations, but they’re not at risk, he said.
If there is a water quality issue with the drinking water, the city would immediately notify everyone, he said.

Janesville folks needs to slow down...they have no problems, unlike our neighbors.
Are we wanting attention and making up situations?
Be thankful for what we don't don't have! Don't manufacture a problem!

I'm glad to find out the drinking water is safe! When I turned on the kitchen faucet earlier, the tapwater smelled like river water and I was worried.

Janesville water is great, yet people buy bottled water by the case for some reason. Marketing is very powerful.
