JANESVILLE – City officials announced this afternoon that the anticipated crest for the Rock River will now be 13.8 feet, down from this morning's prediction of 14 feet.

However, the river isn’t anticipated to crest until sometime Friday, a day later than anticipated this morning.

Currently, the river is at 13.25 feet at the Afton measuring station.

I'm hardly being rude - I'm tired of people bashing these folks for trying their best during this disaster to keep us informed with the best data that they have. I would rather have more frequent updates then for them to sit back and just say "I dunno..." because they don't want to have some armchair editor bash them on their prediction.

Jason: Keeping your rude comments to yourself would do you a lot of good.

liltiger... wouldn't rainfall (especially north of rock county) makes the date of a flood crest change... strange? No - common sense.

A little less criticizing and a lot more thinking would do you good.

First it was expected to crest Monday, then Tuesday, Wednesday, then Thursday, and now Friday.???? Strange.
