From the Wisconsin Emergency Management:

Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) and State Patrol report the following roadway opening of the Interstate System:

Westbound Interstate 90/94/39 at WIS 151 was expected to open at 10 p.m. Saturday. The Westbound Interstate 90/94 from Madison toward Mauston was expected to open at 10 p.m. Saturday.

All entrance ramps to I-39/90/94 (Dane and Columbia counties) eastbound from Madison to Highway 33 near Portage are open. Exits from I-90/94/39 to Highway 33 and I-39 entrances remain closed.

Speeds will be reduced to 55 mph in the area of flooding near Portage to protect the pavement due to overly saturated conditions. State Patrol will be strictly enforcing the speed reduction. The State Patrol and Wisconsin DOT pavement engineers monitored the situation throughout Saturday night to ensure the Interstate remains safe to drive.

Detour routes:

-- Traveling westbound along I-90/94 toward Eau Claire remain on I-90/94.

-- Traveling northbound along I-39 toward Wausau take exit 132 (US 51) north to WIS 16 west near Portage to I-39 northbound

-- Traveling Eastbound along I-39/94 take exit 92 (US 12) to Madison to I-90or I-94.

-- Traveling southbound along I-39 take exit 89 (WIS 16) east to US 51 southbound to I-90/94 near Madison

-- Eastbound I-90/94 east of US 12 exit 92 (Sauk County) remains closed. I-39/US51 southbound from WIS 16 near Portage also remains closed.

-- I-94 westbound remains closed at the Crawfish River west of Johnson Creek. The right shoulder along I-94 eastbound at the Crawfish River is closed. Engineers are assessing the situation to determine the stability of the shoulder at this location. There is a potential that the right lane in the eastbound direction may need to be closed to give highway crews room to work on the shoulder.

Also effective this morning, the DOT is revising its suspension of permits for oversize and overweight vehicles. The change will allow permits to be valid north of and on a line extending from -- LaCrosse east along Interstate Route 90 to Interstate Route 94 near the City of Tomah -- North on Interstate Route 94 to State Highway 21 -- East on State Highway 21 to Interstate Route 39 near the Village of Coloma -- North on Interstate Route 39 to State Highway 10 at Stevens Point -- East on State Highway 10 to Manitowoc

Vehicles moving to provide relief supplies, assist in flood abatement, and respond for emergency services continue to be exempt from permit suspension.
