Delavan Lake sewage station in danger
The Delavan Lake Sanitary District sewage lift station No. 10 is overloaded and in danger of failure, according to a news release. The lift station serves the inlet area and residents are advised to stop using all plumbing fixtures and disconnect any sump pumps from discharging water into the sanitary sewers.
Continued discharges will overload the lift station, causing it to shut down and send sewage back into residences, the news release said. Residents will be notified when use of plumbing fixtures can resume. For more information, call (262) 728-4100.

Portable toilets have been delivered throughout the Inlet. Too bad two businesses decided to screw their neighbors and stay open without making some kind of arrangements to avoid using the plumbing. When the lift fails and our houses get the sewage - we'll know who to blame!
They obviously feel that they are far enough away from the problem to be effected by it - yet they will be the ones to cause it.
These businesses are not very good neighbors.

I removed the p-trap under our bathroom sink and put a bucket under the drain pipe. This way we can wash hands & brush teeth, dumping the bucket outside as necessary. Don't forget to block the outgoing drainpipe with a rag so that the sewer gas doesn't enter the house!

I guess I'd rather deal with the water in the basement as compared to sewage in the basement! I hope all works out for Delavan Lake! It's a beautiful area.
