Jefferson asks travelers to stay away
JEFFERSON -- The city of Jefferson issued a plea this afternoon to motorists, asking them to find alternate routes around the city.
The city issued the statement because of "rising water and traffic congestion on the last available route through the city."
"Flooding is continuing, and this situation is not expected to be alleviated any time soon," the release states.
For updates on road closings around the state, go to www.dot.wisconsin.gov and click on the red box in the upper right corner labled "incident alerts."
Motorists may also call WisDOT’s toll free number: 1-800-ROAD WIS (762-3947).
