Experts say state crop losses will be extensive
Agriculture experts say crop losses due to heavy flooding in Wisconsin could reach the tens of millions of dollars.
University of Wisconsin-Madison farm management specialist Bruce Jones says lower yields will also put more pressure on food prices for consumers.
Ben Brancel of the federal Farm Service Agency in Wisconsin works with farmers who have lost crops, buildings and livestock because of storms.
Brancel says farmers will also lose money because of poorer yields on crops planted late because of flooded or muddy fields.
UW-Extension crops agent David Fischer says in Dane County alone, farmers collectively could lose more than $20 million as a result of ruined crops.

Not a good thing. lets hope that the gulf don't get hit with another hurricaine and hits the places that refine the oil or we all be in deep doo doo. Prices will have no where to go but up, bad thing is they won't be going up slow and that is what is going to hurt everyone.
