Rock Aqua Jays cancel shows
The Rock Aqua Jays are canceling its show Wednesday and future shows until floodwaters recede.
As of this morning, the Rock River was predicted to rise another 3-1/2 feet to historic levels. The team pulled its jump to shore, removed floating docks from the water and secured all other docks.
The Mercury Marine Open Water Ski Show Touranment slated for June 21-22, in Janesville, also will likely be canceled as a result of current and predicted water levels. A decision will be made Wednesday night.
"It's safe to assume, though, that the Mercury tournament will be canceled," said Joel Shapiro, club president.
When the river level returns to normal, the team will resume its regular shows on Sunday and Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. (6:30 p.m. in August). The Rock Aqua Jays are also hosting the National Water Ski Show Tournament on Aug. 8-10 in Janesville.
