City of Jefferson declares emergency
The city of Jefferson has declared an emergency due to flooding along the Rock and Crawfish rivers.
The city is asking residents and business owners to discontinue unnecessary water use.
The Jefferson Wastewater Treatment Plant is approaching treatment capacity due to high levels of clear water infiltration. As of Tuesday morning, the wastewater treatment plant was nearing its capacity of 5.0 million gallons of flow per day.
Too much of clear water infiltration may require discharges of partially treated sewage into the Rock River.
The intersection of Dane Street and South Highway 26 remains closed due to high water. Additional streets may have to be closed due to high water levels within the 72-hour period. Follow the detours.
Riverfront Park and the Jefferson Family Aquatic Center remain closed until further notice.
Residents can get sandbags from the Jefferson County Emergency Government Office and sand from the city’s compost facility at the at the north end of Maple Grove.

As of Tuesday morning water levels along the Rock River had reached 12.6 feet. Flood stage is 10.0 feet. The Rock River is expected to crest early Friday morning at 13.6 feet.

I just heard that the dam broke in Jefferson at about 5pm. I haven't heard about the damage.

Now they are closing part of I-94 just north of Jefferson, this can't be good.......
