Line of showers, storms to produce gusty winds

A line of showers and isolated thunderstorms that will extend from near Reedsburg in western Sauk County to Gratiot in Southeast Lafayette County will cross Southern Wisconsin by 8 a.m. today traveling at 40 to 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Counties in the path of this storm include Rock, Walworth, Green and Jefferson and the cities of Janesville, Beloit, Elkhorn, Lake Geneva, Jefferson, Lake Mills and Monroe.

This line of showers and storms, which will reach Janesville around 6 a.m., has produced wind gusts up to 50 mph causing some minor damage to trees and light outdoor structures. Motorists should be alert for the sudden wind gusts especially on north to south roads.
