UPDATED: Parker, Craig graduations
JANESVILLE -- Craig High School's graduation ceremony will be at Monterey Stadium tonight, as scheduled, school officials said.
Parker High School's graduation on Friday has been moved to the school's gym, however. Both ceremonies were scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
The school distrcit issued the following statement about Parker's ceremony:
"With the forecast of possible thunderstorms for Friday, June 6, Parker
High School has decided to move its graduation ceremony indoors to Parker
High School. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the ceremony
beginning at 7 p.m.
"Due to the construction going on at Parker, parking in the lot will be extremely limited. Additional parking will be available to guests on the South side of Mineral Point Ave. and Faith Lutheran Church, 2116 Mineral Point Ave. There will be a shuttle available from Faith Lutheran Church beginning at 5 p.m. and running continuously until the ceremony begins. The shuttle will pick up at Faith Lutheran at the Mineral Point Avenue entrance where the parking lot goes to the church. The shuttle will drop off behind Parker, and guests will go up one floor to the gym. It is strongly recommend to use the shuttle, due to the limited space at Parker.
"Parker respectfully asks for your understanding and patience both going to and leaving the graduation ceremony. We will have students and staff assisting with parking only at Parker High School."
