JANESVILLE -- County Administrator Craig Knutson announced this afternoon that Tom Perry, director of the county's developmental disabilities board, has resigned.

Perry's tenure officially ends Aug. 18, but he will be on vacation until then, according to a news release.

Knutson appointed LuAnn Kane, the board's deputy director, as acting director until the position is filled.

"Knutson expressed his appreciation for all that Perry has done to serve clients with developmental disabilities during his time working for Rock County," according to the news release.

Knutson said the county "will be moving forward with a recruitment to fill the position."
