Other citations issued included 21 for speeding, four for disorderly conduct, one for resisting arrest, one for battery and one for open intoxicants in a motor vehicle, according to the news release.

The sheriff's office arrested four people accused of resisting arrest, according to the news release, and four people accused of disorderly conduct.

thekid..., it appears your attitude about this is, to say the least, slightly biased against me. Here's your problem right now: You disregarded the basis for the current issue. Go back to that other blog and read how the dispute began with eclipse. Really focus. And refrain from tailspinning into a lot of wild generalizations like you already did. What I originally said was clear. You've yet to dispute that in detail.

Yes, I understand you better than you understand yourself. This is the universal conceit of humanity at the same time it is the tool or gift of the novelist. Universal means we are all complicent (or guilty) in this conceit. (I don't need you to tell me that.) But props to you for using the word "arrogant." Good choice. The other person is especially arrogant if you're on the losing side of a dispute; but if someone's honest, they'll confess to arrogance even when they're on the winning side.

Even though it's arrogance, it's not just a matter of slamming the other person with direct insults, which is something you fall into quite easily. If you had grasped the details and meaning of the basis for the original dispute in question (with eclipse), you wouldn't have fallen into your tailspin. All you did was react. You didn't study or analyze. You didn't point to anything in my original statement that would indicate that the statement was unclear.

I take my cues as to what you think from what you say and how you say it. You're too defensive and this defensiveness prompts you to attack others. You should make a better effort to understand what you're reacting to or responding to.

part of the problem here gfan, and i mean this in the least insulting way possible:) is that you are arrogant. you dont even realize how you are arrogant, which sadly, makes you seem more arrogant to me:) when you say that you are just writing what i 'really meant'. or you say that someone made an 'erroneous claim' that one of yo posts were unclear. that is ARROGANCE. you are stating that you know my thoughts even better than myself or that you at least know how to explain my thoughts better, and that because you understand your post and someone else does not you now have the rite to insult as long as you use 'reasoning'. i know you prolly dont think youre arrogant cuz to you, you have a logical sensable reason for all your posts, and for all your beliefs. the thing i think you fail to grasp gfan, is that so do i. so does everyone who posts or believes in anything, or they prolly wouldnt. i personally dont care how arrogant you are, or anyone is. you are yo own people. i was merely trying to point out that again you spew hypocrisy when you said insults were not ok, 2 min before you typed a post that was insulting the persons intellect.

I was explaining why he made the erroneous claim that one of my posts was unclear. My responce was reasonable. What was I suppose to do, respond as though his post made sense when it didn't?!

I give him credit for trying but he must learn to write better. Lots of reading helps a person write better.

i only RANT about one thing. you drug me into the convo yesterday gfan. i agreed with delta and then you wrote what i 'really meant'. i posted that i thought it was funny and hypocritical that you can say direct insults are uncalled for and two seconds later point out that someones reading level must be on par with their ability to write clear. you said it was reasoning, but there was no reasoning in that post, just putting someone down. how is that me complaining?? seriously??

psychotic?? irrational?? that may be a BIT overboard. that post got deleted cuz i dropped an f bomb. and maybe you saw it as complaining, but i looked at it as more of a question to you about seeing things in my posts that i dont write. you responded perfectly and how i would have guessed, you were just writing what i 'really meant'. you have no idea who i really am. i could have been the guy who took yo money at the gas station, or the nurse who took yo blood pressure, or guy 3 rows back who nodded off in church on sunday. you dont know. but you know what i 'really meant'?? how come you dont know what i 'really meant' when i said i never complain?? ill rephrase one more time. i dont complain in real life, other than about the current prohibition, but thekid3477 prolly will write posts that sound like complaints. especially when ignorant people try to judge based on my marijuana knowledge or the fact that i smoke on a more than regular basis or if peeps try to continuously re-post what i 'really meant'. make sense??

lol. 'our kid':) love ya too sarahB. while i am for 100% legalization, i will take anything we can get, and the fact that they are simply ticketing these people instead of arresting them is a small victory in itself. the problem is the tickets are for mere POSSESSION. nothing more. not using. not driving. not selling. not possessing quantitys. not being a public nuisance, thats hypocrisy as long as responsible free american adults can possess and consume the 'eviler of two evils' without risking a ticket. ticketing is better, but its not good enough.

Mark - your post forced me to reread the Gazette piece - I guess my eyes deceived me the first read-through....52 grams is nothing, 52 ounces, 52 fat ones, 52 Bob Marley fat ones would be something.
*
I am not a user of anything stronger than our pitchers of margeuritas pre-concert, but it sounds like DEA made a major score of....52 grams?
*
And how is the last line germane to the headline?

One ounce contains 28.85 grams. The WCDEU confiscated "nearly 52 grams". That's a total of 1.8 ounces. That is a very minute amount for 35 thousand parrotheads (0.0008 grams / person).
I wonder how much us taxpayers paid per ounce for that enforcement?
And, Gazette, you folks are doing tabloid journalism again, huh? Saying "nearly 52 grams". Why not say 1.8 ounces or put it in perspective?

Zoom's got it right. Typical Alpine concerts--what bands play there without the entire grounds under a haze of smoke? I don't think you can target just DMB. Give me a break.

And did anyone really think that a concert outside would not have any of this...especially Jimmy Buffett (happens all the time - read the news where he goes).
