The first two of three community panel interviews for the city manager opening wrapped up this morning.

David Hales, the director of finance/administrative services for the city of West Jordan, Utah, started the morning off. William Ross, the current city manager in Jackson, Mich, followed.

The panel followed the same format as Monday's interviews, asking standardized questions focusing mainly on economic development issues in Janesville and surrounding areas.

The last of the five candidates will interview at 4 p.m. today in the council chambers. City council members will hear recommendations from the community panel tonight after the council holds its closed-session interviews. The hope is to have the field narrowed to two candidates by tomorrow morning.
