Community panel moves to recommendation stage
The panel of community leaders interviewing the candidates to replace the retiring Steve Sheiffer as Janesville’s city manager completed their final interview this afternoon.
Current Lewiston, Idaho City Manager John (Jay) Krauss met with the panel this afternoon to explain why he feels he's qualified to be Janesville's next city manager.
The other four candidates interviewed with the panel this morning and yesterday morning and met with the city council this afternoon and yesterday afternoon. The city council will interview Krauss later tonight and then will hear recommendations from the community panel.
The council hopes to choose two candidates for a second round of interviews tomorrow. If the council feels none of the candidates fit the position, it will start the hiring process over.

I hope the panel doesn't feel coerced into making a recommendation and truly looks at the merits..or more specifically..the lack thereof, and proceeds appropriately.
