Town will hold police department referendum
The Milton Town Board voted unanimously tonight to hold a November referendum asking if its police department and court system should be eliminated.
Though the board voted to ask about both departments in one question, a citizens committee requested after the vote that the referendum be split into two questions, one about the court and one about the police department.
Chairman Bryan Meyer said he will consider putting the issue on a future board agenda for more discussion.

They should be doing this for Janesville, then we can spend the money on the Sherrif's Dept. since they actuly do something, and get it done at a faster than glacial pace. Besides, Milton can't go w/o a police force, depsite how annoyingly anal they are with speed enforcement. Their too far out for the sherrif to efectivly cover them, and the rest of their beat.
