Flooding closes Carver-Roehl Park

JANESVILLE—Rock County announced this morning that it has closed Carver-Roehl County Park because of flooding.

“The public will be notified as soon as the park is reopened,” according to a news release.

One of the county's best-kept secrets. It's not just a park, it's a natural area. The park is named for Carvers Rock, which is a limestone formation of the same type as the Big Rock in Janesville, although it's really more of a long cliff.

It's similar to Parfrey's Glen in some respects, if you've ever heard of that. That's one of Wisconsin's best-kept secrets (fortunately).

It is a gorgeous little park outside of Clinton. Nice trails for hiking, horseback riding and cross country skiing.

I have no idea what or where this park is.
Too bad about it getting closed and all.
