Doyle announces more flood aid
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Jim Doyle says he’ll make $15 million in federal grants available to Wisconsin communities trying to recover from last month’s floods.
The federal Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Funds can be used to help low- and moderate-income homeowners make repairs that aren’t covered by insurance or other federal aid.
Local governments also can use the grants to repair damage to public infrastructure and facilities not covered by insurance or Federal Emergency Management Agency reimbursement. Applicants should contact the state Department of Commerce at 608-266-2742.
