Fire in vacant home considered arson
Janesville police and fire officials are investigating a fire at a vacant building Saturday as an arson.
The building at 3713 E. Milwaukee St., Janesville, showed signs of forced entry, and the fire had been started in several places, said Sgt. Jimmy Holford with the Janesville Police Department.
The owner of the building, Paul R. Simon, had planned to tear it down soon, said Shift Commander Craig Jones with the Janesville Fire Department. Simon did not have insurance on the building.

Ok...it's a short article folks. Read.Each.Word. No.Insurance. And even if the fire completely destroyed the building (which according to the article, they could determine forced entry, so it was NOT) he would still need to pay to have it cleaned up and debris removed. Still doesn't come free.

I think an investigation into the whereabouts of Janesville native "Art R. Garfunkel" that day might be in order.
